Keep a selection of nylon coil jacket zipper sliders in stock for quick repairs. These sliders are quick and easy to insert onto the appropriate size zipper. Simply remove the top and/or bottom stops and slide replacement slider into place on the zipper teeth. Finish by replacing the top and/or bottom stops.

HOW TO MEASURE A ZIPPER SLIDER
Look at the number on the tab of your zipper to figure out what size zipper slider you need.
If your zipper doesn’t list a gauge number, you may have to measure it to find the right zipper head replacement. Measure the width of your zipper teeth when they are closed in millimeters (if possible). The measurement might not neatly line up with a zipper size, as the actual size of the zipper tape can vary, but it should roughly correlate.
HOW TO REPLACE A ZIPPER SLIDER
Remove the top stop with a pair of pliers or nippers. Remove the old slider and slide on the replacement zipper slider, making sure that the “nose” section of the slide faces outward. Run the slide back and forth a few times to ensure that it’s functioning correctly, then replace the top stop with a new one and crimp it with pliers to hold it in place.
