Here's a not often seen tool check from NASH MOTOR CO -- it is 1-3/8" in diameter and brass
.
Tool checks were used by factory employees to requisition tools -- the number identifies the employee.
Skilled trades employees generally had 8-10 of these to provide the capability to requisition several tool at a time.
Nash was formed in 1917 and merged with Hudson in 1954. The tag is from the Kenosha WI facility.
