Vintage Brass Key Fob HOTEL Tag: DEARBORN INN MI; FORD MOTOR Patrick Henry
This is a collectible brass Hotel room key fob or key tag fro the DEARBORN INN -- it is marked "PH 2” (Patrick Henry Room 2. It is brass and  2" in diameter. Dearborn is the Headquarters for FORD and site of many of its buildings.
Patrick Henry was a famous orator during the movement for independence in Virginia in the 1770s. A Founding Father, he served as the Governor of Virginia from 1776 to 1779 and from 1784 to 1786. He is remembered for his "Give Me Liberty, or Give Me Death" speech
Concerning the Inn, Henry Ford  was its founder, and its history is quite unique. Ford had a vision to create one of the world's first airport hotels, and locate it across the street from the Ford airport, so that out-of-town air travelers would have a nearby place to stay. This vision was realized in 1931 when The Dearborn Inn welcomed its first guests. Five replica homes were constructed on the property  as reproductions of famous Americans' homes -- Edgar Allan Poe, Walt Whitman, Barbara Fritchie, Oliver Wolcott  and Patrick Henry
