    This is a 1-1/4" tool check brass tag from Airesearch Aviation Co with the number 874 on it.
    Tool checks were used by factory workers to requisition tools from the tool crib.
    The co was founded in Los Angeles in 1936 and was a manufacturer of turboprop engines and turbochargers, and a pioneer in numerous aerospace technologies. It supported famous aircraft in WWII. In 1964, merged with Signal Oil & Gas and in 1985 merged with Allied Corp. into AlliedSignal. In 1999 AlliedSignal was acquired Honeywell.
