    Offered is a striking Dessert Set in the Royal Vienna style. There is an obscured whiteware mark of O & EG Austria (Oscar and Edgar Gutherz) which was in use 1899-1918. Most likely a Dresden decorating studio using a common technique in the 19th century to block out makers mark and add Beehive in Royal Vienna style. Set consists of one 8 3/4" plate and twelve small 6" plates. The 12 are 6 each of 2 mythological scenes. A laurel leaf crowning and Ladies with cupid. Large plate is Ladies with Cupid. Set is beautifully done in rich tones of burgundy and dark green with pastel and gilt accents. Overall condition is good with some gilt loss around edge of large plate. One small plate has edge flake (see photo) and and another small plate has a 1/4" hairline which is not noticeable.  They are from a New York City living estate having been in storage for years. They were brought to the the United States in 1946 from Hungary. Owner is anxious to downsize so all reasonable offers will be considered. Polite questions cheerfully answered.
