    Description

Pair of Charles Ahrenfeldt Saxonia Dresden Style Bread Plates Circa 1886 - 1910
Very pretty pair of porcelain bread plates. Nicely decorated in the Dresden style with hand painted flowers in purple, orange, yellow, and blue in the center and small flowers on the border. With very fancy Art Nouveau style gold gilt scrollwork along a fancy relief molded border. Marked on the reverse with a red pattern number 2809/556. Almost marked in blue with a helmet over a shield with CA inside and Saxonia underneath. This mark was used by Charles Ahrenfeldt in Saxony between between 1886 and 1910.
One of the plates has a chip to the back edge and a tight 3/4" crack off the edge and wear to the gilding along the edge. The other plate just has wear to the gilding along the edge, but no chips or cracks.
Each plate measures approximately 6 1/8 inches wide.
These are antiques and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the pieces.
