Description
This is a completely hand made porcelain bjd, sculpted and finished by "Kaiafay" Annie AbbottFrom a mystirious culture that remains hidden, maybe on a hidden island or an inaccessible valley is this girl, but she could be anything else. Wouldn't it be fun to create outfits and seats for her. Occasional I sell outfits and chairs separately please check my shop. Her chair that was created from local driftwood is NOT included in this listing (some countries do not allow the import of driftwood due to bio security policies)
The doll was casted in quality bisque porcelain. This porcelain is very sturdy and strong. Only colliding with a hard surface could destroy it. She was hand painted with lasting china paints. Her body embellishments are alloy filigree, that is held by removable glue dots ,so she can be dressed differently. Her wings can be taken of, they are just tight around her chest joint. Her wig can be taken of for different wigs, her crown is attached to the Wig. The doll is hand made , and looks like that, with normal imperfections. She is fully posable in all her joints. She is NOT a toy, but a piece of art.
Even though it takes up to 2 years to finish such a doll, Annie wants to offer them for a reasonable but affordable price.
The doll comes with a certificate of authenticity, care instructions, and one maintenance/repair voucher for our doll clinic.
Anja won several awards, and is a member of the professional art doll makers guild (PDMAG). The driftwood chair is NOT included. The doll may sit on a soft surface or with support, a doll chair would look best. She measures 14 inches stretched out. She will be shipped in a very good padded double box. The body accessories may be taken of for safer shipping. We ship worldwide tracked.
This doll is one of a kind, despite being a cast from a mold, as Annie never makes the same doll twice. You receive a true work of art. These dolls are rare and precious due to their tedious process of sculpting, making molds, casting, sanding fragile pieces, and often having to recast them, until a set is successfully completed for firing, painting, and stringing. The composing of a perfect porcelain, the perfect firing temperature, china painting, is all a tedious trial and error process, that is why so few porcelain bjd artists go trough with the journey. These dolls are also precious as they are immortal, because porcelain can last a few thousand years, as we know from precious porcelain. Bisque is not as fragile as you may think.
