    What a wonderful opportunity to buy this  one of a kind Benjamin Franklin art doll with wood articulated printing press. The scale of the printing press is perfect for the artist doll
    9” Benjamin Franklin is an OOAK art figure  with this Wonderful printing press. He is made of a composition hard almost like painted bisque. He is exquisitely dressed and painted. The finely painted facial details and costuming is a sight to see. The tiny mohair wig and everything on this  art doll is just perfection.  See the zoom photos. No photos can do this  fine art doll justice.
    Mr Kontis made dolls in the 1940/50 era and he even made a few souvenir dolls for UFDC. His work is perfection. This Benjamin comes with the amazing articulated printing press that actually moves when the handle is pulled so it looks like it is printing.
    This NIADA artist is one of the very few who worked in this very hard type composition then paints it so it feels almost like  painted bisque. There is not that much information available on this artist but he is known as an artist who did create UFDC figures for convention.  This small tiny  9” scale is just amazing.
    Benjamin Franklin is made completely by the artist this is not a production doll and he was not made in larger  numbers like the UFDC convention doll.
    This artist doll is from my NY store inventory in perfect condition, of course there is no smoking or other enviornmental issues. He is perfect See the zoom photos.
