Welcome to A Century of Dolls. This listing is for one of the exquisite series of Fashion lady dolls by American Artist Kathy Redmond Circa 1990 era.
She comes with the Wood stand that is crafted by the artist that fits her perfectly and safely to guard against her falling over. All artists should make stands like this for dolls. But that is one of my pet peeves doll stands that do not work well or fit dolls perfectly like this doll stand does.
There was a short period of time in the 1990 era that Kathy made fashion dolls and ladies with full hand molded porcelain details to the waist. Where to look first on this amazing doll. Look at the back of her head with all the molded flowers and braid down her back.
She is made of Hand molded porcelain arms legs and shoulder plate a with a Lower cloth body. Then she has the gorgeous hand molded shoes These dolls do not photograph as well as the beauty of them.
NOTE the finely detailed molded porcelain Form the top of her to the waist is I hope evident but you will be blown away if you have never seen one of these fine art dolls in person. She has a high detailed head and breastplate and torso. She wears a green antique silk gown with tulle that is original to this Doll. I purchased this doll directly from Kathy Redmond and she included the 2 tags that come with her. There are about 10 to 12 fashion ladies in various colors. All are One of A Kind.
Kathy Redmond of Pennsylvania USA makes absolutely stunning dolls with fine molded details in the hair and body. She creates dolls of history and fashion ladies with fine detailed clothing and the hand molded Porcelain details unlike any other American artist. Just look at the braided molded porcelain hair do. Stunning work.
This is not a production doll. Many of the Redmond dolls do not have boxes and some have tags and others do not. There is no strict way to identify these dolls except that Kathy signs her dolls with the cat with an R. This doll is likely signed beneath her clothes which are not removable.
Some dolls have tags like this one from the artist some do not and rarely are there boxes unless it was a convention doll that was contacted with UFDC and these are production dolls that was made in greater numbers.
This fashion lady is one of the artists smaller One of a kind productions. Please use the zoom to view the amazing hand molded details and the finely crafted dress she wears.
Check our eBay store I will be listing an entire collection of these dolls and Beverly Walters Dolls in the coming week. I have always been in awe of these type of fashion art dolls for the last 35 Years. They make the antique fashions dolls that were just stock molds look Simple.
Please see the ZOOM photos.
THIS LOVELY ARTIST DOLL WILL BE A HIGHLIGHT TO ANY ART DOLL COLLECTION.
