JANE EYRE AS A CHILD
This unique and rare doll is in nice condition but I am unsure if she was wearing a bonnet originally. I bought this at an estate sale so I’m not the original owner. Jane is wearing a cotton or linen dress, apron, pouch, slip, and long knickers and is carrying a leather book. She has cute leather shoes with gold buckles She is affixed to a wooden pedestal. On the bottom there are stickers; one is a care sticker and the other indicates who the doll represents and the maker’s name. Jane’s hair is a little messy, which could indicate that there was once a bonnet or head covering. Her face is hand-painted and there is an indentation above the eye that is hidden by her hair. Her face seems a bit flat to me but I bought her this way because I loved her. I’m just in the process of thinning out my collection.
This measures 7-1/2” tall x about 4” wide (arm to arm). Her wooden pedestal measures 2-3/4” in diameter and is 3/4” thick. The wood is lacquered to a glossy finish.
