Hawaiian hand carved tiki statue by third generation artist Hia Lavaka. His experienced workmanship is beautiful, intricate and refined. The statue depicts the Hawaiian god Lono. Lono is one of the four gods in Hawaiian mythology, he represents fertility, rainfall, agriculture, music and peace. The tiki measures approx. 16" tall x 4 3/4" wide x 2 1/2" deep. Lono is in good condition please examine pictures. Areas to be noted - is the carved wood knot that is right in the middle of the headdress. The knot is darker then the rest of the wood but because of it placement it works with the tiki design. There is another knot on the top left corner and a darker spot on the right side of the headdress. Please examine pictures closely. The bottom is signed Hia Lavaka. The back has a metal sawtooth hanger. Carved into the back is Lono, Maui 2006 and Falyn. Overall, this tiki will be a wonderful addition to your collection. Please ask any questions you may have.
