Ernst Bohne Dresden Style Hand Painted & Gold Floral Encrusted Basket Bowl
Pretty hand painted reticulated Dresden style porcelain handled basket or bowl with four branch feet that extend into smaller branches around the basket with green encrusted leaves and pink, peach, and yellow encrusted flowers. With gold gilt and pale blue highlights. There are hand painted Dresden style flowers in pink, blue, orange, and yellow on the inside of the basket. Marked on the bottom with an impressed EBS mark used by Ernst Bohne & Sons between 1887 and 1896, and a blue EB anchor mark used by Ernst Bohne & Sons between 1878 and 1920. You see a lot of Dresden pieces like this, but I haven't seen many made by Ernst Bohne.
Has numerous chips to the floral encrustation, which is typical of this style of porcelain, and a few stems to the leaves are missing. Some are post manufacture. but some of these issues are painted over and may possibly be in manufacture. Also has wear to the gilding and a post manufacture chip to one of the feet.
Measures approximately 8 1/2 inches long x 5 1/4 inches wide x 3 1/4 inches tall.
This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
