    Dresden Style Ahrenfeldt Briggs Hand Painted Floral Gold Demitasse Cup & Saucer
    Beautiful porcelain demitasse cup and saucer. Nicely decorated in the Dresden style with small flowers in purple, dark pink, orange, blue, and yellow. With fancy gold gilt srollwork along the edge of the cup and saucer and gold highlights to the handle of the cup. The cup also has relief molded flowers next to the handle with gold gilt highlights. The saucer is marked with a green crown over RB Boston. The crown mark is decorating mark used by Charles Ahrenfeldt in Atrohlau, Austria between 1886 and 1891. RB Boston stands for the Boston retailer Richard Briggs. The cup is marked with a green lion waving a flag over R Briggs Co Boston. It is also marked with a Charles Ahrenfeldt pattern number in gold 2704. 578. Richard Briggs was a Boston porcelain and glass retailer who designed porcelain and had it manufactured by some of the best porcelain manufacturers of the 19th century.
    The saucer has a 1/2 inch tight crack. Otherwise good condition with no other chips, cracks or wear to the gilding.
    Measures approximately 3 3/8 inches wide including the handle x 1 5/8 inches tall.
