Dresden Hirsch Hand Painted Courting Couple Green Beaded & Raised Gold Clock
Beautiful antique Rococo Revival style clock with relief molded and gilt scrollwork design. Decorated with a hand painted courting couple scene on the front framed by hand painted flowers in pink, orange, purple, and yellow. With a green border with gold beaded net overlay and raised gold floral designs. Has the same green, gold net, and floral designs around the center of the clock. Hand painted flowers in pink, purple, red, yellow, and orange on the back of the clock. Marked on the bottom with a blue H over a crossed mark and Dresden. This mark was used by Franziska Hirsch in Dresden Germany between 1893 and 1930.
Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. I wound the clock and it kept time for an hour, but I did not watch it after that.
Measures approximately 7 inches wide x 6 1/2 inches tall.
This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
