Dresden Hand Painted Watteau Scene Floral Gold Reticulated Quatrefoil Cup
Beautiful quatrefoil porcelain tea cup and reticulated saucer. The cup is decorated with a hand painted courting couple on either side below pink, yellow, purple, orange and blue flowers and gold gilt designs. The saucer has small pink, red, and orange flowers in the center. With pink, blue, red, purple, yellow, and orange flowers in between the reticulation and gold gilt highlights to the reticulation. Marked on the bottom with a blue underglaze crown above Dresden. This mark was registered by Donath & Co, Richard Klemm, Oswald Lorenz, and Adolph Hamann in 1883. It was re-registered on 1893 and used until 1916. This cup was probably made closer to the 1883 date.
Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks.
The cup measures approximately 4 1/4 inches wide from handle to handle x 2 1/4 inches tall.
The saucer measures approximately 5 3/8 inches wide.
This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
