    Description

Offered is this lovely PAIR of porcelain china 3-lite candleholders, made in Dresden Germany by Carl Thieme.
The sculpted white candleholders are decorated with hand-modeled porcelain flowers, including roses and peonies in yellow, purple, pink and lavender with green foliage.
Gold trim decorates the three arms of the candleholders, as well as the base, rims and leaves.
The candelabra stand about 6.5 inches high (16.5 cm), making them a good size for a family dinner. They measures approximately 8.5 inches in diameter (21.5 cm).
The base or foundation stands about 3.5 inches high (9 cm). The foundations could be used to display a single candle.
The three-armed candelabra fit snugly into the receptacle in the foundation. (One photo shows all four pieces.)
We believe these candleholders were made in the early 1900s. Carl Thieme began using this backmark in 1901.
The candleholders are in very good used condition. There are small chips on two of the white leaves that frame a candle well. (See photo.) Also there is a small chip on the rim of one foundation. (Again see photo.) Otherwise, no chips or cracks that we have observed. However, it is no unlikely that a petal or leaf has been lost from the hand-modeled flowers.

    Questions welcomed. Thanks for looking.
Sorry. No returns. All items are sold “as is.”
Several eBay members have asked about shipping such fragile pieces. Our practice is to wrap the porcelain in polyester quilt batting, similar to cotton batting but with more "loft". We then wrap it in bubble wrap, which some may call polybubble. At that point we put it in a double-sided box, with enough packing peanuts to keep it from moving around. When we ship any porcelain, we provide shipping insurance. We have successfully shipped Dresden porcelain to Malaysia, China, Russia and other international destinations, plus many locations in the United States. As we all know, nothing is absolutely foolproof, so we say a prayer when we put the package in the hands of postal workers and hope for the best. You might look at feedback comments from other customers to learn their judgment about our packing techniques. We ship many fragile items.
