Dresden Centerpiece

Description

This elegant fruit dish is an excellent example of the fine craftsmanship of the Von Schierholz factory in Plaue, Germany. This piece, produced between 1945 and 1972, is decorated in the rococo revival style--characterized by its generous display of pastel colors, flowers, and extraordinary hand painted features. The bowl is exquisitely sculpted, with gold gilding flowing into the scrollwork along the edges. Putti are seated upon opposite rims of the bowl-one plays a pipe as the other strums upon a guitar.
Bowl is in excellent condition.
