Description
Maker: This beautiful fine porcelain candelabra has the underglaze mark of the Carl Thieme company, which produced exquisite works in porcelain beginning with the founding of the Saxon Porcelain Manufactory in Potschappel, Germany, in 1872. It is widely recognized as one of the great Dresden manufacturers.
Marks
: The blue mark on this candelabra came into use around 1902.
Design
: The candelabra, designed in two pieces, features finely sculpted applied flowers, each hand painted on pure white porcelain.
Size
: It is about 9 1/4 inches wide and 6 1/2 inches tall and weighs 1 pound 6 ounces.
Condition
: There no cracks, scratches, stains, repairs or significant wear. The gold trim is entirely intact.
There is wax buildup in one of the candle slots.
Three of the applied flowers have tiny chips, as is often the case with this type of Dresden porcelain.
The candelabra has been carefully examined for damages and all identified flaws are shown in the photos with the red arrow. But there may be other small damages so please check
all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
