Antique Richard Klemm Dresden Hand Painted Dessert Girl Portrait Pot【Factory】Richard Klemm(1869-1916)
Karl Richard Klemm founded a porcelain decorating studio in Striesen bei Dresden in 1869. The decorating style of Richard Klemm closely matched that of the Meissen factories . He often used a heavily applied style that focused on florals. Richard Klemm, along with Helena Wolfsohn, Karl Thiem, Ambrosius Lamm and Donath & Co., were among the most sought after porcelain decorating studios at this time. In the early 1880's Richard Klemm registered his mark, the "Klemm Dresden Crown". He merged his company with the studio of Donath & Co. in 1916. However the merged companies were subsequently purchased in 1918 by Hutschenreuther.
【Date】Between 1891 and 1914.
【Size】 21.5 cm high.
【Condition report】Very good condition without chips, cracks or repair. There are some scratches on the upper part of the hand painted panel. There are some wears on the gilt, the wears are mainly on the the handle, the base rim and the upper rim of the pot of where the lid sits. The lid is probably not the original lid but it is very well matched. There is a tiny hole on the lid for the string to go through to prevent the lid from falling.
Dresden porcelain portrait coffee pot by Richard Klemm. The pot is hand painted with the portrait of a little girl in a beautiful pink renaissance dress carrying a dessert porcelain plate with pastries, the painting has great attention to details on the dress. The painting are similar to the famous painting of "Chocolate Girl". An elegant and extraordinary pot!
I have more items from Ambrosius Lamm that I will post in the coming months.
