This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Richard Klemm Dresden Studio in the 1890s.
The saucer has a diameter of 3 3/4 inches.
The cup is 2 inches high (without the handle) with a diameter of 2 inches. There is one central reserve on the front of the cup and two reserves on the saucer containing hand painted Watteau scenes.
18th century lovers in garden settings engage in courtship.
The scenes are delicately painted in almost miniature.
The scenes are surrounded by hand gilded cartouches.
Both the green and white areas of the two pieces are intricately gilded.
The empire style handle and rims are trimmed with gold.
