about
Ambrosius Lamm
Ambrosius Lamm operated a porcelain painting studio and antique shop from 1887 to 1949.
Lamm's studio is known for painting in the Meissen, Vienne, and Co
penhagen styles
as well as the wide area of Watteau-type decorations and mythology.
Lamm produced cabinet cups and saucers that would enhance the most sophisticated collection.
The Lamm studio produced work of
outstanding quality. John Sandon in Antique
Porcelain talks about Dresden
p
orcelains, "It is essential to watch for quality as some pieces can be disappointingly crude, while others, including the Lamm decorating workshop, made very high quality productions finished with rich raised gold"
