: This pair of beautiful fine porcelain cabinet plates has the underglaze "SP
Dresden
" mark of the Carl Thieme company, which produced exquisite works in porcelain beginning with the founding of the Saxon Porcelain Manufactory in Potschappel, Germany, in 1872. It is widely recognized as one of the great Dresden manufacturers.
Marks
: The blue mark on these plates came into use around 1902.
Design
: Each pierced plate features a fully reticulated band of finely detailed and boldly colored flowers, hand painted on pure white porcelain, that alternate with gold accented sections. The band surrounds an exquisite floral center. The designs, though very similar, are slightly different.
Size
: The plates are 8 1/2 inches wide and together weigh 1 pound 4 ounces.
Condition
: Both are in excellent condition with no marks, nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, stains, discoloration or repairs. The reticulation is entirely intact.
